I decided to change the color of the pedestals. Initially painted in Mr. Metal Color´s bronze by Mr. Hobby, I thought they looked way too faded, not to mention that with time they were covered by a very thin greenish coat. To achieve this effect I repainted in brass. More photos of the hull´s assembly from figures 77 to 113, this time very well taken by my friend Claudio. I must confess that photography is not one of my best skills. At the same time, I´m assembling other details such as the command island and the carrier´s planes. In figures 114 to 120 the command island is painted gray with the photoetched details glued in place, but the matt varnish is yet to be applied, as well as dry brushing, the wear and tear and rust effects in some places, always being careful not to overdo these effects. The last details to be included are the protections around the island, included in the lower deck´s detailing set. I will post some photos later of the finished command island. The planes are very well made, injected with transparent plastic. What struck me was the level of detail in these mini-aircraft, especially the panel lines, very delicate and faithful to what we find in 1/48 scale kits. I used some photoetch to further enhance the planes, like the propellers in the Zeros and Kates and the small landing gear doors in the Zeros. To illustrate the difficulty in assembling such small planes, check out how little they are: Mitsubishi A6M2 type 21 "Zero": 2.4 cm long and 3.4 cm of wingspan Nakajima B5N2 Type 97 "Kate": 2.7 cm long x 4.4 cm of wingspan In figures 1a to 17a we can see a bit of the painting process, from the internal color, the white acrylic primer, then all the painted Zeros, some camouflaged Kates sand some others still in aluminum. I needed a lot of patience to paint them all. To paint the green color I had to mask all sides of the fuselage

In the next few pictures, the painting steps, not yet finished, for the planes that made up the first wave of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Note that no Aichi D3A Val dive bomber participated in the first wave, only in the second.
